Fun Team

David E Stevens III, Founder

World Languages School in ColoradoDavid founded Bolder Languages in 2007 to help share his knowledge of new cultures and languages in a new way, making classes fun and stimulating. He believes that education is the most important thing in the world, and that it should be fun, affordable, and available for all.

Originally from New Orleans, David has lived in Boulder for most of his life. After growing up in Boulder he dedicated himself to becoming culturally empathetic and learning new languages. Thus he spent 5 years traveling the world and studying International Business at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida.

His experience living abroad includes Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Thailand, England, Chile, Spain, and Ecuador. His travels and studies have given him a broad exposure to a variety of languages and cultures, inspiring the creation of Bolder Languages to help students be better prepared for international experiences and reduce the impact of culture shock.

Jay Minaya, Director of Marketing

Spanish Classes in ColoradoJay Julio Cesar Minaya was born in Lima, Peru. He moved to the United States to pursue his Business Administration Diploma at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated in 2005 and worked in the mortgage and banking industry in large firms for two years in Boulder area. But his passion for teaching his native language made him pursue his dream of opening his own language school.

His goal is to help English speakers to learn Spanish to enhance their travel experiences, and enable them to communicate with more people. “There are so many English language courses offered to non-English speaking people who come to the USA but you find only a few efficient Spanish courses which are directed at English speakers” “I wanted to change that , now through SEF you can find a variety of Spanish lessons for almost every need”. Jay developed his own methods for teaching Spanish. He created the “fun method” which combined with his fresh style makes the learning experience very enjoyable. Jay also teaches this Spanish method through the Longmont Free University.
